Job Description:
Job Title: Software Engineer

Hiring Department: Research & Development

Job Summary:

As a member of the Research and Development Team, the Software Engineer is responsible for consolidating and maintaining current software employed by Lepzi Platform, developing new software to be deployed to the products from partner companies, and developing software for our next generation readers.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Analyze current set of software used by our company, consolidate the use of each piece of software to improve workflow efficiency, including but not limited to the following:
Collaborate with end users, and incorporate their feedback for optimization
Analyze software packages used for image analysis and report verification to improve accuracy and to regulate sensitivity
Improve existing software to accommodate the bar-code scanning device for optimization
Upgrade Jasmine meter graphical user interface to support multiple languages
Upgrade Laboratory Information System (LIS) according to end users’ requirements to meet industry/customer standards
Provide technical guidance for validation of software tools used for product quality inspection and for generation of lot-specific parameters.
Provide support with defining user requirements and review of validation reports from partners
2. Gather requirements, analyze current system, design, develop, test and maintain the following various of software / system:

Embedded system to be deployed onto the next generation readers, as well as the corresponding desktop software that communicates to the next generation readers.
In-house RFID coding tool
System used by the reader of in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) based on the company’s assay platform for Point-of-Care Testing (POCT).
3. Develop and maintain up-to-date instructions, test procedures and specifications for operation of software tools used by the company, such as cPoc, LREasy and etc.

4. Performs other duties or assumes additional responsibilities as required


Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Salary and Benefits: $54.00/hour; Extended Health Benefit; 15 days paid vacation per year;

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C and assembly language
At least 3 years of full-stack software development experience
Ability to create clear and comprehensive technical documentation for design, implementation, and testing
Experience with software testing methodologies and tools, including unit testing and integration testing for embedded systems
Proficiency in version control systems like Git for collaborative development
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize software performance
Knowledge of embedded systems development tools, such as Keil, IAR Embedded Workbench, or Eclipse for embedded development is an asset
Knowledge of the architecture and programming of micro-controllers/micro-processors commonly used in embedded systems (e.g., ARM Cortex-M series) is an asset
Experience in developing and optimizing device drivers for various peripherals (e.g., sensors, communication interfaces) on embedded platforms is an asset
Knowledge in communication protocols like UART, SPI, I2C, USB, and familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP) for connected devices is an asset
Knowledge of relevant medical device standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485) to ensure compliance with industry requirements is an asset
Effective communication and collaboration skills, as embedded systems development often involves working in multidisciplinary teams
Strong team spirit, good interpersonal skills, and proficient in English
