Job Description:
Employment Details:
Salary: 25.10 hourly / 40 hours per Week
Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time
Day, Evening, Morning, Overtime, Shift
Languages: English
Location: Winnipeg, MB
Experience Required: 1 year to less than 2 years
Education Required: Completion of two or three year Animal Health Program
Tasks:
1. Collect samples and perform other laboratory tests
2. Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery
3. Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery
4. Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian
5. Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian
6. Counsel clients on animal health care
7. May perform a variety of office management and clerical duties
8. Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry
9. Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
10. Provide wound and bandage care
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses:
-Registration by a provincial or territorial, or regional association as Registered Animal Health Technologist, Registered Veterinary Technician
