Business Unit: Health Care Quality & Affordability (HCQA) / Medical Care Solutions (MCS) / Medical Solutions and Support (MS&S) Medical Solutions & Support empowers (MS&S) our Blue Shield partners in delivering measureable value to the member, by providing process and strategy leadership, and timely, quality solutions. This is accomplished by providing strategic planning consultation, process improvement work, building operating and execution models as well a balanced blend of technological solutions as well as agile delivery, coaching, and teaching to Medical Care Solutions and beyond. Position Summary :
The Process Strategist works with Medical Care Solutions leaders, HCQA leaders and other leaders throughout BSC to develop strategy, metrics models, operating and execution models and specific process improvement efforts that directly impact Cost of Health Care savings, Administrative savings and employee engagement scores. This role is also coaches, teaches, mentors and empowers fellow MS&S team members to perform at their best in delivering strategies and solutions that meet the organization goals and become a high performing team.
This position is an advanced business process expert who is highly skilled in Lean, Six Sigma, statistical analysis, process improvement, project management, strategic thinking, inventory management and change leadership.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
• Accountable for a portion of core process improvement portfolio goals and annual roadmap with multi-functional matrixed teams within BSC.
• Serves as business unit advisor and consultant. Drives establishing process improvement goals and strategies, provides analytical thinking and innovative strategic consultation and recommendations to the process owner and process driver. Guides/maintains core process leadership alignment through communications and change management strategies.
• Consults in building annual strategic operating plans for cross functional teams. Leads cross-functional team through continuous improvement process steps, guides development of data collection/root cause analysis, data interpretation, process mapping and forecasting of benefits, guides prioritization of efforts based on impact, cost and ease of implementation.
• Executes the annual operating plan. Guides cross-functional teams that execute the plan and resolves any issues. Guides business case development for process improvements.
• Recommends process for ongoing measurement, monitoring and reporting of progress on key metrics and facilitates process leadership briefings and progress status. Applies advanced knowledge of Business Process Management tools and techniques, change management and project management to very complex problems. Makes recommendations that result in process and policy changes. Responsibilities include metric model development, root cause analysis, data manipulation and interpretation and reporting.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
- Inventory management expertise
- Superior math, analytical and problem-solving skills and use of analytical tools (e.g. MiniTab, Excel graphs) ability to provide coaching and mentoring on the use of analytical tools.
- Ability to provide work direction to others.
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Experience running Rapid Process Improvement/Kaizen events
- Advanced facilitation skills
